    About runthru

Runthru magazine started out as a quarterly print magazine in April 2008, chronicling dance events in and around the Philippines, ideated by art director, Lucas Jacinto, and editor-in-chief, Joelle Jacinto. The online version was launched in 2009, meant to supplement the print version. Due to lack of funding, the print version was inevitably discontinued.

At the moment, this new incarnation of the online magazine features dance reviews. Selected material may be migrated from the old websites over time.

Runthru is a wordplay of run through, a common term used in theater meaning a rehearsal that “runs through” from the beginning of the production until the end. You could say that an article on dance is a runthru of either the dance it describes or the experience of the dancer/ dance personage being interviewed, a magazine about dance is a runthru of the events and experiences of a certain time period in a particular location. And so this is what Runthru aspires to be.
